Recently, there has been exciting news in China’s ocean energy development. A new breakthrough has been successfully made in CNOOC Enping 15-1 oilfield group, with all 76 producing wells being put into operation and a daily crude oil production over 7500 tons, setting a new historical high. As a long-term partner of CNOOC, Shenkai has leveraged its own advantages to design and develop the wellhead surface safety valve and monitoring system, as well as carbon dioxide reinjection wellhead devices based on the special environment and production requirements of the Enping 15-1 oilfield group, so as to facilitate the exploration and development of China’s largest offshore intelligent oilfield group.

The wellhead surface safety valve and its monitoring system provide safety guarantees for the stable operation of the oilfield group. The system is used to achieve real-time transmission and monitoring of key safety parameters through highly sensitive sensors and a stable and efficient data transmission network. Once there is abnormal fluctuation in data, the wellhead control panel will respond quickly and immediately activate the emergency mechanism to ensure that the entire mining operation is always in a safe state.

The carbon dioxide reinjection wellhead device is tailored by Shenkai for China’s first offshore MT carbon dioxide storage demonstration project on the Enping 15-1 platform. Currently, the equipment has operated safely for over 10,000 hours with the injection of 60 million m3 carbon dioxide, providing strong support for CNOOC to promote the leapfrog development from offshore “CCS” (carbon capture and storage) to “CCUS” (carbon capture, utilization and storage).

The “unmanned intelligent control wellhead device” is an integrated solution that combines the wellhead safety valve with the surface safety control system device. It can be used for on-site automatic emergency well shut-in and cut-off of gas supply, and cam automatically adjust the opening of all throttle valves to ensure production safety and efficiency, and meet the demand for gas outlet and collection flow rate.

Surface Safety Control System Device

· Wellhead fire emergency shut-in protection.

· Local ESD shutdown protection.

· Remote ESD function, master control room DCS emergency shut-in protection (remote ESD, remote RTU testing and control).

· Shut-in protection for abnormal production line pressure.

· Automatic alarm and emergency shut-in protection in case of hazardous H2S concentration on site.

· Function expandable as needed on site.


Wellhead Safety Valve

· Spring return is designed to ensure reliable and stable action, as well as rapid and sensitive response.

· The piston, piston rod and other parts of the actuator are resistant to wear to ensure its sensitive response and longer service life.

· As an independent component, the standard actuator is easily and reliably connected to the safety valve, and re-commissioning of the safety valve is not required when the actuator is replaced.

· Under special circumstances, the actuator can forcibly open the safety valve mechanically to maintain normal production, even without a hydraulic source.

· The driver piston is treated to have a harder surface and strongerwear resistance, thereby with a longer service life.
