Recently, Shanghai Shenkai Petroleum Equipment Co., Ltd. received approved letter from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) stating that Shenkai’s 10Kpsi well control products have passed the qualification review and successfully obtained the supplier qualification for network access of KOC. This marks that Shenkai’s well control products can fully participate in Kuwait’s deep workover and drilling projects/deep well drilling projects.

Since entering the Kuwait market in 2009, Shenkai has become a complete equipment supplier and service provider for major drilling companies represented by KDC in the local market after over ten years of efforts. Currently, more than 200 BOPs are serving the local oilfield site.

As an internationally-renowned oil company, KOC implements the strictest selection standards for management, quality, HSE, etc. for enterprises applying for network access. Since the application for KOC pre-qualification was officially submitted in March 2023, after strict review of various stages including preliminary data review, formal evaluation, on-site acceptance, etc., Shenkai has successfully passed the review with excellent technical strength, quality control ability and innovation level, and obtained the qualification for supplier network access.

The successful network access of 10Kpsi well control products is another breakthrough in the implementation of the national “ Belt and Road” initiative, which is also an important milestone in implementing Shenkai’s overseas strategy, laying a solid foundation for Shenkai to further expand the Middle East market. 1. Strong shear ability: with extremely strong shear ability, the single-stage hydraulic cylinder can directly cut high-performance drill pipes of 5 ⁷/₈″, 23.4lb/ft, S-135 grade, and achieve reliable sealing at a rated working pressure of 70MPa after shearing.

2. Optional ram hang off capacity: it can achieve sealing of rated working pressure while hang off the drilling tools, with hang off weight of 600000lbs (272t).

3. Side door and hydraulic cylinder structure: simple structural design to reduce the strength and difficulty of ram replacement.

4. Surface treatment: corresponding advanced surface treatment is available for different parts to improve the corrosion resistance of the parts and enhance the reliability of BOPs.
